So, we are seriously neglecting to take pictures these days, mostly because the boys hardly stay still long enough to take their picture- but they sure keep us laughing.
This morning I was changing Asher's diaper and Matthan was standing over him and sneezed
Asher said "OHH! He just bless on me"
Too cute.

qotd.
A few cute conversations I've overheard lately:
Mark was trying to ask Asher something when we were driving in the car today and Asher said:
"I'm eating crackers right now, talk to me in a minute".
The boys talking to each other:
Matthan: "Ash what can I NOT eat?"
Asher: "eggs"
Matthan: "That's right Ash. What can you NOT eat"
Asher: "fishies" (goldfish crackers)
Matthan: "And...wheat and soy"
Of course they don't have all the allergens correct- but we were pretty impressed with Matthan's teaching skills as he is trying to make sure Asher knows what they both are allergic to. :) Today in a follow up conversation with them, we tried to list the other things Asher can't eat which sort of confused him- since we refer to his "special milk" as "milk" so we are trying to still with calling it "dairy". :)

nine and a half weeks.
The LORD has done great things for us,
and we are filled with joy. Psalm 126:3
and we are filled with joy. Psalm 126:3
Our youngest little one is nine and a half weeks- developing at a rapid pace inside my tummy. We found out about this baby on Christmas Eve. At the time, we thought I was already about 9 weeks- but, not surprisingly, our calculations were a bit off. So, the fact that I have been sick since I was literally maybe 3 weeks pregnant- has made for an eventful first trimester so far! I have been sick. sick. sick.
Despite a hard past 6 1/2 weeks of exhaustion and sickness- we are truly delighted that the Lord has blessed us with another baby. More than ever we are aware of how undeserving we really are, and yet God continues to pour out His amazing grace on our lives.
The boys are excited and currently requesting a "baby sister" (matthan) or a "gwirl" (asher). We know we all will be excited either way, whether its a girl or a boy. We are already trying to think through what the sleeping arrangements will be around here...given that Asher is a wonderful sleeper- and Matthan not so much. Our pediatrician recommends putting them together right away- we are quite hesitant. So, we figure we have plenty of time to sort all that out.
Due date is August 28- which means we will deliver Lord willing by C-section anywhere from 1-2 wks before that (or earlier if it goes like the previous two deliveries). We are excited to watch this little one grow over the coming months as we eagerly anticipate welcoming our newest little one. Matthan will be 3 and 8 months, Asher 2 and 7 months. Three babies, ages three and under :o).
We would appreciate your prayers for a healthy pregnancy.

Our two year old.
What a year it has been for this little fella! I cannot believe he is already TWO. He has certainly had a FULL year as a one year old! With 4 trips to the ER... I'm not sure any of them were even mentioned on the blog. The reasons for the emergency trips were because: 1-"histamine dumping" which is when your body rids itself of all histamine and it looks like he is literally going to explode- his whole body was VERY swollen and covered in hives (in the middle of the night). 2- He fell down the stairs and cut his head open-only requiring that it be glued closed. 3-The most severe- he was given Goldfish crackers by accident at a community bible study we attend on Wednesdays. This results in an anaphylactic reaction-requiring the ambulance to take us to the hospital. By far our scariest moment as parents to date. 4-Breathing treatments didn't help his virus-induced asthma- so he required steriods at the hospital.
Through each moment of these events God has proven again and again that we can trust Him in ALL THE DETAILS of caring for our son. We have been amazed at God's provision in these times of crisis as well as His love for us in sparing our son.
There are of course many things to make note of (other than all the crises) that stand out about Asher in his first two years:
He LOVES music. One of his special things to do with Daddy is to sit and watch youtube videos of christian artists singing and especially playing the guitar. Some of his favorites are You are Stronger- Hillsong, Waiting Here for You-Christy Nockels, He literally could sit for hours doing this. For Christmas he got a little guitar (shaped like a dog) he LOVES it and calls it his "cartar".
He is a super sleeper at night. What a long way he has come from a year ago! He takes great naps and at night he sleeps 12-13 hours straight. He loves time alone-so even if he isn't ready for his nap or bedtime- he happily gets in his crib and will sing or talk until he falls asleep.
He eats really well, and is usually open to trying most anything he's given- though he loves his favorites and generally does prefer the same ole' thing every day. Favorite foods: Quinoa, chicken, sweet pea crisps, banana's & Quinoa flakes which he calls rice cereal. We've found some great new recipes that he can try which helps him expand his diet a bit. He drinks Hemp milk, which has been a good alternative to the formula and other dairy/soy-free alternatives out there.
Asher loves his big brother and in this past year has really caught up to him in height and weight. Resulting in lots of people asking if they are twins. Of course they don't look alike. But they otherwise do pretty much everything together and if they are apart they are both constantly asking for the other one.
Asher's two year check up went great. He is doing excellent in all areas. His foot that had been turning in quite a bit a year ago, has really improved and certainly not hindered his walking/running in anyway. He's talking in sentences and doing really well!
His stats:
Height: 37 inches (97th percentile)
Weight: 33 lbs (90-95th percentile)
Head circumference: 51.4 cm (97th percentile)
Asher is a mommy's boy for sure. He of course loves his Daddy- but he seems to want mommy to be the one to serve or care for him at all times. He has a really hard time with me leaving him at home with a sitter or family member (even Daddy).
We have really been blessed with this little boy. Its crazy to think that its been two years already since he entered our world. What a sweet blessing. Happy 2nd Birthday Asher Cannon.

matthan's 3 yr stats.
Matthan just had his 3 year check up. He's doing great. The doctor recommends we try to tackle Matthan's sleeping through the night behavior before potty training- since he is NOT interested AT ALL in potty training! He still wakes frequently during the night- and while he goes back to sleep right away- we still are trying to help him to sleep through the night without waking. We will be moving the boys into the same room soon- so tackling good sleep habits is a must!
Matthan's stats:
Height: 39 inches (75-90th percentile)
Weight: 36.8 (75-90th percentile)
He's doing great in all developmental areas. Eating and sleeping are the desired areas for change. Im thrilled he still takes a solid nap though- and we will hang onto that as long as possible! :o)
