fifteen:two

It was check up time around the Brandenburg household this week as our boys hit two milestones...Matthan is 15 months old and Asher is 2 months old! These boys are growing much too quickly! I wanted to post their stats and some highlights as to what they are doing these days...(and pictures too!)

Matthan Blue...
Weight: 29 lbs 6 ounces
Height: 33 inches
Head circumference: 49.6cm
All measurements are in the 90-95th percentile.

Matthan is doing well overall. We had a talk with the doctor about his eating issues. He is doing a little better with going back to solids, but there is still plenty of room for improvement. With time and some adjustments on our part, things should straighten out soon, we hope! He's sleeping well, he takes at least one good nap a day-sometimes two, and at night he sleeps around 12 hours.

Matthan is ahead of the game verbally- we can't really keep track of how many words he says anymore, which is great. He has started singing along with songs the past few weeks, which is adorable. He loves playing outside, so we know that this Spring and Summer will be quite active for him. He is really into going "Bye Bye". We love seeing his personality come out. One of our favorite things that Matthan does is when we ask him to say "I" and he says, "I", then we ask him to say "Love" and instead of repeating it, he often says, "You" or "Mommy" or "Daddy". Very sweet. He also enjoys playing "Peek-a-Boo", which he calls "Peekboo".

(Playing "Peekboo")

This past month has provided many opprotunities for training. Matthan is of course wanting his independence, and being told "No" to something, often isn't received so nicely. While its been challenging at times, especially when seeking to care for Asher at the same time, we know God's grace is available to help in our times of need.

Matthan has become more interactive with his baby brother. He calls him "Baby" or "Assa". He will walk over to him and kiss him or hand him a toy (often placing it on his face). Today he started pushing him in the swing. We are excited to see less jealousy and more enjoyment in his interactions with Asher. He's a great big brother.

Asher Cannon...
Weight: 14 lbs 90-95th percentile
Height: 23 1/2 inches 75th percentile
Head circumference: 41.5 cm 90-95th percentile

Asher is such a sweet baby. He's very happy. What's ironic is his that name means "happy & blessed", and it couldn't be more perfect for him. He is smiling and cooing lots. He has been laughing in his sleep which is always great to hear. He continues to eat well.

He hasn't had any more projectile vomiting in more than a week, and total there were only 3 episodes, so the doctor feels this was due to his reflux medicine needing to be adjusted. So far, his reflux seems well managed by his Zantac. The evenings can be a restless time, but we think that's due mostly to his eczema which is quite itchy. He's more and more predictable as far as nap times and things he likes to soothe him. He has one pitiful cry. He sticks his bottom lip out- and then tries to pull it back in- but then the flood gates open up. Asher has had REAL TEARS since he was like 2 weeks old- which we didn't even know was possible. Poor guy!

(Asher finally had a real bath- he is too big for a bath in the sink now!)

(Having a talk with Daddy)

He sleeps fairly well. When I put him down at night, the last few days he's slept a 4 1/2-5 hr stretch, followed by every 3 hr wakings thereafter. He loves bath time and that's become part of his bedtime routine-just like his big brother. We are certainly enjoying him and are so grateful to God for blessing our family with his precious life.

We love our boys!
