big boy.

I just had to post a few things about Matthan. He is doing outstanding at going to bed on his own. As I stated in a previous post, we had to convert the crib to a toddler bed due to his frequent escape attempts. Initially we would lay down with him to get him settled to sleep- and then sneak out of the room- of course this only created a bit of a dependence on that for going to sleep. So, after much consideration we decided to put an end to all of that. Now, we go in with him, he lays down at nap and bedtime, and we pray with him- snuggle briefly, remind him of what we expect of him, he says "Ok mommy". And thats it. Really? All this time. It was that simple. We have had very few incidents of needing to correct him or remind him of the rules for bedtime. He has really done SO WELL!!! We couldn't be more proud of our big boy.

And something funny: lately when he calls for Asher he can refer to him a variety of ways,
here are a few:

Asher (in different tones to emphasize what he's trying to communicate)
Ash
Ashy
Asher Cannon
Asher Blue (poor guy thinks they both have Blue for a middle name)
Bubby (only when he hears mommy say that)
and my all time favorite...he yells in a tone that you would call a dog "ASHER...HERE BOY!"
Too cute. It's so great to see how much they love each other.
