Finally we had Matthan's six month check up... Our doctor said
Matthan is doing great!
His stats are as follows:
Weight----21 lbs 12 ounces ---95th percentile
Height----28 1/2 inches-----90th percentile
In the last two weeks Matthan has been quite busy! He is now in a big boy car seat since he has reached the limit for his infant seat! He loves his new seat and seems to always fall asleep when he is in it! It must be cozy!
Our little guy's babbling has turned into his trying to form little words. Its been fun to watch and listen to... we'll look over and he is concentrating and then starts moving his mouth (no sounds coming out) and then all the sudden he starts trying to say things. He's pretty consistent on "hey", and lately much to our delight he says "Da-Da". Now he doesn't seem to know what that means- but saying it certainly warms the heart of his Daddy! :O) Yesterday morning he was playing in his crib when he woke up and he kept saying "Da-Da", it was a great opprotunity for me to tell Mark; "Hey Matthan's calling you".....of course he promptly went to greet him. We are continuing to practice sounds with him and cheering him on along the way. It's so cute to hear his little voice and vocabulary forming. A couple other things he has been saying are..."Hot" (not sure where that came from), "Ca-Ca" it sometimes sounds like Cat. Oh and the other day when we were at the doctors office some of the ladies were speaking to him they said, "Are you getting so big?" Matthan responds by shaking his head "No-No", they laughed and said "Are you going to be a big brother"-Matthan again shook his head "No-No". He thinks it's pretty funny. He also can nod his head yes but he doesn't enjoy that quite as much- and of course he doesn't use either one appropriately- we're working on that! :O)

AND he is still working on crawling- although he has decided he doesn't need to use his knees for this...He walks on his hands and feet with his bottom straight up in the air. So cute! Such a busy boy! We are loving every moment with him.

I still can't get over the fact that he is 6 months! I love his little tripod crawl. He is so sweet :)
