Our Asher is five days old today, and sweet as ever. He was able to come home with us on Friday evening. He is such a quiet baby we hardly know he's here. We wanted to post some pictures from the hospital- we also intend to do a post soon to include the details of the birth etc. But time is somewhat limited to do that, so we'll see.
Overall things are going well. Asher is eating and sleeping well (during the day at least!). We are watching his bilirubin levels- and will return to the doctor again tomorrow for another level to be drawn. He seems to be breathing well, and we are enjoying spending time as a new family of 4.
Matthan seems to be interested in Asher, though he hardly touches him. It's funny to watch him go over and point to Asher and say "Baby". Or if they are sitting together in their seats- beside one another and we walk into the room- he points to Asher and says "Baby" as if to let us know- he is still there. Matthan of course doesn't understand why Mommy can't pick him up, which is hard on both of us, but he is certainly soaking up lots of Daddy time which is great!

Just for a quick comparison- picture above is Matthan at 2-3 days old....
And here is Asher at 2 days old- we find there are some similarities between our two little guys.

***Today we have a new nephew...Cole Nicholas Renn was born at 3:02am weighing 7lbs 11oz.

Brandy he is so so precious. I can't wait to see him and hold him :) Praying for you as you recover. And how sweet that him and his cousin Cole are so close in age!
So precious, Brandy...so hard to believe that I'll be holding one of those in a few short months! He looks a lot like Mark, I think!

Bran it is so amazing how much Asher has changed in the pictures from day one to the 11th. I actually thought that it was either a very clear picture of Asher or it was Matthan in your comparison shot. I still havent seen either one of you more overwhelming over than the other. His lips are absolutely beautiful. There are many females including me that would love to have them. I am glad the bili levels are rising and that your staples are out. i hope you dont overdo and continue to do well. I cant believe you are even getting out. Please tell Crystal and Danny congratulations to them for their blessed addition. Now everyone can relax, all babies are here and all early and we can hit our knees for our healthy babies (now) and thank God above for blessing the parents and extended family for these wonderful gifts and for especially putting his arms around Asher and getting him through the first few scary, very scary days.
