a's four month stats.

Asher had his four month check up yesterday, and overall things look good. He is growing swiftly and he's certainly moving up the charts! Here are his stats:

Height: 26 1/2 inches (90th percentile)
Weight: 16.14 lbs (75th percentile)
Head Circumference: 44 1/2 cm (95th percentile)

One of the big things we discussed with the doctor is Asher's ongoing issue with reflux and eczema. His reflux finally does seem pretty well managed with his current medication. (Prevacid & Zantac) We just have to remember that the goal isn't necessarily no spitting up- but we want him to be pain-free, so that seems to be good for the moment.

(He started sucking his thumb in the last couple days!)

His eczema continues to puzzle us as to the cause. We had thought milk was the main contributor, but having removed that from my diet more than a month ago, there still seems to be problems. Therefore, we were referred to see an allergist and thankfully we got in to see the doctor today. The doctor did a skin prick test of the most common allergies in babies. It turns out that Asher has only a slight reaction to milk afterall, and the doctor doesn't think its necessary to eliminate all dairy from my diet. However, he is allergic to almonds and tree nuts and severely allergic to eggs. Poor guy- I have had these items on a daily basis, so it's not surprising that he has been struggling so much. I left the doctor grateful for the information we gained, but so sad that I'd caused so much discomfort for my baby boy. But we look ahead now... hopeful that some relief will come soon. Maybe, just maybe, our little one will start sleeping better since he hopefully won't be so itchy.

That will make for a happy baby boy and a happy mommy too.

Bran it is really amazing to me how much bigger Asher appears from one video to the next. i hope you find something out soon because I know the last two nights must have really scared you, it would have me. i also hope whatever it is he will outgrow. The blood test will be more accurate and more in depth I would think. hopefully they get a vein immediately. poor guy. Love all the pictures especially Asher hanging out with his finger on his face/chin area like he is in deep thought and I love the boots and apron on Blue. Love and blessings...Mimi
