asher's stats.

Asher had his 6 month check up and overall he is looking great! The doctor was really happy about how clear his skin is- almost no evidence of eczema which is such good news! The reason for this we assume is that I've remained dairy, egg, nut free and limited wheat items. Also we have adjusted some of his soaps/lotions which seem helpful. Asher is still mostly just receiving breast milk, although we did find a type of formula which seems safe for him. He takes usually one bottle a day (in the evening) of Nutramigin- a hypoallergenic formula. The doctor wants us to continue not giving Asher any cereal or fruits and veggies. He seems to be growing wonderfully on just breast milk- so the plan is to continue this until we go back to the allergist next month.


Here are Asher's six month stats:

Height: 28 inches (90th percentile)- he grew an inch and a half in two months
Weight:19lbs and 10 oz (75th-90th percentile) -he gained just under 3 lbs in two months!
Head:45.8 cm (90-95th percentile)- his head grew around a centimeter in two months.

I realize this is the 3rd of basically the same picture- but they were so cute I had to post all 3!

We are so grateful that he's growing well, which the doctor said is often unusual for a baby with food allergies. We discussed his trouble with settling down at night- and minimal sleep- and we have a few things to work on in the days/weeks/months ahead that hopefully will help with that too. Asher is rolling all around- and occasionally he will slide up on all 4's and rock---so he may be getting more mobile soon. He's also trying to clap which is really cute. We had his big boy car seat put in the other day since he's quickly outgrowing the infant seat.
