first trimester screening.

(You can see the baby's sweet smile & the arm and leg in the air)

Today we had our first trimester screening. It seemed to have gone great- although we don't get the official results until later in the week. It was neat to get to see the baby moving all around. The sonographer commented that we are going to be chasing this one- as he/she was VERY active. It's funny because every sonogram we had with Matthan he was always just chillin' out laying on his back with his feet kicked up. Well this one did that only briefly and it was turning from front to back- swinging its legs all around. Pretty funny! I better try to get my rest now, as soon, I'll be able to feel all those movements! The baby measures around 2 inches long.
The heart rate is around 165- which is excellent.

Everything looks great-we are on our way to the second trimester! I'm feeling much better, still trying to rest when I'm able to- but sickness seems to be behind me! The plan is to see our high risk doctor each month in addition to our regular OB. The good thing about that is they can keep a close eye on anything that might place me or the baby at risk due to my blood clotting disorder. Also we get to have a sonogram each month- which is wonderful!! We were also encouraged by the fact that the high risk doctor seemed positive about "trying" to have a regular delivery and hopefully avoid another C-section, although we will make that decision later in the pregnancy to see what we think would be the best thing for us based on the baby's size.
Our next appointment is at the end of July.
