asher: five months.

Asher has a cute bib which fits him perfectly- it says...
Smiles are FREE
Sweet eyes are $1
Hugs & Kisses NO WAY!

Asher turned five months old today. What an eventful month it's been. We are guessing that he is nearly 18 pounds- and while that may sound like a lot for his age- it seems to be all in his length. We look forward to all the stats next month to see how much he has really grown.

He tried rice cereal for the first time the other day- he was so excited...and LOVED it. But unfortunately had a bad reaction, so he won't be having that again anytime soon!

Asher is a joy to have as part of our family. While he would likely be described as quite sensitive and as having high needs, he always greets us with a sweet smile. He loves his big brother. He gets so excited when Matthan talks to him. If Matthan gets close enough to Asher, he tries to grab him. Soon he will be chasing after him.

Asher about to give Matthan a BIG KISS! :O)

He's a feisty little guy. He can roll front to back and vice versa. He is eager to get moving! I think he will crawl before he even sits up on his own. If he is on the floor playing, he wiggles his body to try to inch forward to grab at toys. He certainly prefers sitting up straight as opposed to reclining in his bouncy seat. He loves taking a bath- and this past month he and Matthan started sharing bath time. They both seem to enjoy playing and splashing together in the bathtub.

Asher loves his Daddy. Especially their special time when Daddy rocks him to sleep.

Asher has a precious laugh and loves hearing his own voice. :O)

This month has been hard for little Asher. We are hopefully on our way to some relief for him. As we posted a few weeks back, it has been identified that he has a few food allergies. Since his initial testing we saw great improvement as I eliminated those items from my diet. However, in the past week or two, we have slowly seen a recurrence of his previous symptoms, plus more severe reactions. It appears as though there are other allergies that have not been identified, which is quite concerning. He is often extremely restless and needs lots of soothing. This upcoming week, we hope more testing will be done as its important to determine what all is going on with the little guy.

Asher checking out the ingredients to see if he can eat them :O)

We appreciate all the prayers we can get. This is a scary time for us, as some of his reactions have been serious- and we know they have the ability to get much worse. This is also a time of our being more aware of our need for complete dependence on the Lord. We know that despite our not knowing all that's going on, He certainly knows and He has the power to protect and even heal him from these allergies. God is allowing this trial for His glory, and we seek His will in all of this. A friend reminded me this week that God loves Asher more than we do, we can certainly trust Him to care for our baby boy.

Asher we love you so much. It hurts us to watch you suffering with all of these allergies, we hope that the upcoming month will bring much relief. Hang in there sweet boy.
