catching up.

It's been pretty busy around our house lately, and therefore I've gotten way behind in posting updates and photos. Here are some highlights from the past few weeks:

A BIRTHDAY PARTY:


Matthan attended a birthday party of one of his little friends from church, and while the party was lots of fun, it was nearly impossible to keep Matthan with the group. He loves to run free- which can be exhausting for all of us.


It was very hot that day- he was guzzling water!


He enjoyed playing the drums.

A TRIP TO THE FARM:


We spent some time with Mark's family a couple weeks ago, Matthan loves going to the farm. He often will ask to go "bye bye" and then talk about the farm and the cows- and of course Ma & Bill, Nanny & Grandaddy.

Its such a blessing to us that our boys have the chance to know their great-grandparents and they naturally love them so much!!!

On a different trip to the farm Matthan was trying to lift the watermelon.

ASHER UPDATE:

Asher has been pretty active, though he still isn't sitting up on his own- he rolls all around. His eczema is much improved, even though we still don't have more info in regards to his allergies. We've tried a hypoallergenic formula- which Asher did drink very well- but it didn't seem to work with his allergies. So, we now have a second brand of formula to try to see how he does.


Eliminating eggs, all nuts, and dairy and limiting wheat hasn't been as hard as I would have thought, especially since at the organic grocery stores you can get some alternatives which help out quite a bit. Asher still has a long way to go in the sleep department, but his allergic reactions are occurring less and less-we are so thankful for that!

We did have to take him to the doctor this past week and he weighs just barely over 18 pounds. As pictured above he LOVES his feet. Its such a fun stage when they are discovering so many new things. His 6 month stats will be posted in a couple weeks, after his dr appt.

THE RIO:


The week before last Mark unexpectedly was off work and we drove to Gaithersburg to run some errands. We went to the Rio to walk around with the boys and show them the ducks. Needless to say- Matthan didn't last long in the stroller, but it gave us an opprotunity to work with him on staying close to us. Not sure who learned more in that situation- him or us!

Matthan's first lesson in the importance of staying WITH Mommy and Daddy as we walk around the water... Poor guy I was gripping his hand so hard I think he got the message! :O)

WATER PLAY WITH FRIENDS:


The other day I took the boys to a friends house to play in the sprinkler- a first for Matthan. He had no idea what was coming his way...


Meanwhile Asher was being quite friendly with his sweet little friend Maddie...


Maddie was very tolerant of him- she's such a sweet girl!
