Asher does remain itchy from his eczema. Though on the skin surface it appears mild, it seems as though his allergies cause him to itch intensely even though we may not see anything on his skin. It seems the itching bothers him the most at night-which affects his sleeping. He wakes usually every 2 hours- if not more frequently.
While this is a challenging time for us, its worth every food eliminated to seek to bring some comfort for our boy. We continue to try not to look too far ahead and consider what this will be like dealing with allergies as he grows older. It's possible he'll outgrow some of them, only time will tell. We focus on today, and thank God for the wisdom we've obtained so far about what is going on with Asher and begin to help him have some relief.
We'd appreciate prayers for healing for our little one, and if not complete healing-we'd love to have more knowledge about what he is in fact allergic to and what the best course of action should be, and relief for him in the meantime. We are considering weaning Asher from nursing, however, that's not something that happens immediately seeing as though he hasn't had a bottle since he was a newborn and is certainly NOT interested in changing that at this point. :o)
Amazingly, despite not feeling his best, he continues to thrive and he is such a happy baby. Every time we see his sweet smile, we are reminded what a precious blessing he is to our family.
